In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, Ruddington’s main transport provider has put off all planned fare increases indefinitely. However its Navy 3 service has now been suspended whilst the frequency of its Green 10 buses to and from our village has been reduced.
Nottingham City Transport says ‘unprecedented times’ – when buses should now only be used for ‘essential’ travel – prompted it to postpone the rise in fares which should have taken effect from 29th March 2020. All bus, Easyrider, Robin Hood and NCTX Buses app prices are remaining unchanged until further notice – but the number of buses will temporarily go down on all routes – with some services cut.
Anthony Carver-Smith, NCT’s Marketing Manager explains: “As employee availability reduces due to COVID-19, NCT is no longer able to continue running a full timetable. The number of people travelling has also reduced as people follow government advice and avoid non-essential use of public transport.”
